Hurricane Hazel

Mark Sinnett’s novel The Carnivore recently won the Toronto Book Award. The judges said that “Sinnett takes what would be a cliché in lesser hands — Hurricane Hazel’s devastation of Toronto in 1954 yoked to an affair that silently undermines a young marriage — to produce a novel of adventure and sorrow.” The Carnivore is available at Laidlaw Library.
